How To Join SSA
SSA provides its members with many opportunities. Such as Opening Day on the Bay, Fleet Week, Boat Christenings, KFOG's KaBoom, Angel Island Raft Ups, Cruise In's to other Yacht Clubs, Crab Feeds along with a variety of dinners and events throughout the year. Or something just as simple as a Full Moon Sail or a trip to Jack London Square for a crab sandwich. The easiest way to join SSA is to come to our monthly meeting which is held on the 2nd Thursday of every month (except December). Current meeting location is the Ballena Bay Yacht Club in Alameda located at 1150 Ballena Bay Blvd., Alameda, CA 94501.

By coming to the meeting and getting to know our members, meet the officers and then you can make aninformed decision as to whether to join on not. If you do decide to join, all the paperwork can be finalized that night and you could be out on a boat that weekend.
Dues are $75 per year plus a one time fee of $12.50 for a name badge. During 2009 the club is waiving the normal $30 initiation fee to encourage more potential members into joining during these rougher economic times. So for $87.50 you get ~13 months of membership. What other Yacht Club in the San Francisco Bay Area can you get a year's membership, plus the reciprocity to visit other Yacht Clubs in the bay area.
The second way to join is by going to the 'Join Today!' button and entering your data online. However, your membership remains in the pending mode until you attend your first meeting, sign a hard copy application and complete the payment process. Which really makes coming to at least one meeting a requirement to join.
So what are you waiting for? Come to our next meeting which has the social hour starting at 6:30 with the actual meeting starting at 7:30. 2nd Thursday of each month. See you there.
Regards,
Commodore - James Morgan
